Although each job we do is quoted individually, here are some pricing guidelines that will allow you to get a pretty good idea of what your minting project is going to cost. All of these products are shown in a one-ounce size, with a diameter of 39mm--about the size of a silver dollar.
Dies - $500.00 - $600.00 per side (obverse & reverse would be $1000-$1200 , except for portraits which run $800.00 and up per side depending on the detail involved. By the way, your custom medallion will, of course, be two sided; however, if you choose, you can get by with just one die charge by using one of our stock dies for your reverse. We have a variety of stock reverses to choose from.

The Portland Minting Company also offers hand-enameled and select gold-plated treatments. Youcan see samples of these on our "Medallions Preview Page." Please contact us if either of these options is of special interestto you. The cost of hand-enameling or select gold-plating is approximately $13.00 per side, per medallion.
From time to time we get requests for smaller medallions. Since all of the work going into producing a die and into fabrication is exactly the same, and only the amount of metal going into the smaller medallion differs from the one-ounce medallions, we do our best not tolaugh when customers ask if half ounce anythings cost 1/2 what the full ounce products cost. So we'll just say right here that we can do half ounce (and smaller) medallions, but if you're going to go this route do it for aesthetic reasons not to save a lot on the product.

Also, we do produce medallions in .999 fine gold. *Customers please note the price of all Precious Metals have dramatically risen in 2006 and we continue to see an uprise. Prices are guidlines only. Firm Quotes will be given basis the quantity of product purchases and the current market price.
